World-renowned artists from
throughout Europe, Russia and
Cuba will travel to Fort Myers
this winter to perform for the Fort
Myers Community Concert Association
in its 69th annual concert series. All
performances will start at 7:30 p.m. at
the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts
Hall on the Florida SouthWestern State
College campus in Fort Myers.
Single tickets will be available for
purchase starting Sunday, January 14
for five performances.
Piano Battle starring Andreas
Kern and Paul Cibis kicks off the
season on Tuesday, January 30. The
internationally accomplished pianists
go head-to-head in a piano duel
featuring a variet y of classical and
contemporary music. The audience will
decide the winner in this unique concert
The four other concerts involve
Teatro Lirico D’Europa performing
Puccini’s Madama Butterfly on February
8; Lezginka State Dance Company
on February 20; Itzhak Perlman on
February 27; and National Symphony
Orchestra of Cuba on March 25.
The Fort Myers Community Concert
Association, now in its 69th concert
season, is an all-volunteer not-for-profit
organization founded by the legendary
Barbara B. Mann in 1949 to bring
world-class entertainment to Southwest
Florida at affordable prices. The

host a pancake breakfast in
the Bayside Recreation Hall on
Sunday, January 14 from 8 to 11 a.m.
All are invited to attend.
The breakfast will include scrambled
eggs, sausages, coffee, orange juice and

Date Night will be held at Cape
Coral Yacht Club on Friday,
January 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Cost is $50 for dad and one
daughter and $15 for additional
daughters. Presented by the Cape
Coral Parks & Recreation Department,
the event will include an enchanting
evening for girls and their dads
including music, dancing, door prizes,
catered hot and cold appetizers,
refreshments and even a special photo
by a professional photographer to
capture the moment.

Hope United Presbyterian Church
within San Carlos Park will hold
a Community Flea Market on
Saturday, January 13 from 8 a.m. to
noon. Vendors are welcome. Cost is
$20 for spaces to rent.

Fort Myers Beach
LeeTran has increased service to
Fort Myers Beach among seasonal
changes that started January 4.
The Fort Myers Beach Trolley service
includes two routes:
Route 490 has three trolleys that will
travel between the Beach Park & Ride and
Bowditch Park until 8:45 p.m ., seven days
Route 410 has five trolleys that travel
between Bowditch Park and Lovers Key
until 10:20 p.m ., seven days a week.
Route 490 will depart from LeeTran’s
newly constructed Beach Park & Ride,
which opened December 19. The new
facility at 11101 Summerlin Square Drive
on the corner of Pine Ridge Road provides
free parking for people to take the trolley
to the beach. Passengers also can connect
to LeeTran’s routes 50 or 130 from the
Beach Park & Ride.
The Beach Trolley is 75 cents, or $2
for an all-day pass.
Two additional increases in service that
began January 4 include:
Route 150 from Bonita Grand to
Lovers Key State Park.
The LinC Route 600, which connects
Lee and Collier counties.

talent to fill approximately 18 spots to
perform the National Anthem for the
upcoming 2018 Spring Training season at
