Applications Open For
Festival Of Light Parade
The Edison Festival of Light applications for the Junior and Grand Parade are
now available online at www.edisonfestival.org. The 79th annual Grand Parade
will sparkle through historic Downtown Fort Myers on Saturday, February 18,
with the Junior Parade five days before on Sunday, February 12. Whether you ride a
horse, pull your wagon, or build a tinsel-covered float, we encourage everyone in our
community to take part in this historic event.
The Edison Festival Grand Parade encompasses organizations, businesses, and
neighborhoods who get creative to amble for an audience of over 200,000 people.
The festival prides itself on tradition and community. Also, the Edison Festival appeals
to a wide variety of demographics, which makes a perfect platform for the exposure of
any organization to a captive audience.
For the Junior Parade, participants don’t need to have a giant float. The Edison
Festival of Light encourages schools, families, nonprofits, troops and everyone in
Southwest Florida to participate by offering several options to take part.
As homage to the famous inventor, the Edison Festival requires everyone in their
Grand Parade to excite spectators by wearing some sort of illumination. Become a part
of the action and join a parade route to illuminate, innovate and celebrate.

Pilot Club Members Assist
Students During The Holidays
Recently, Pilot Club of Fort Myers members visited Impact in both Fort
Myers and Cape Coral and assisted students in making holiday decorations.
Working with Impact students one-on-one is one of the missions of the Pilot
Club. The club also distributes about 1,000 bicycle helmets to children at various
events during the year.
The focus of the Pilot Club of Fort Myers is helping organizations seeking
to improve the quality of life for individuals with brain-related disorders through
volunteer activities, education, and financial support. The club name came from a
riverboat pilot who could steer safely through troubled waters. The club’s motto is
“do more, care more, and be more.”
For information about the Pilot Club, call president Joy Augustine at 691-0069
or email email@example.com.
