Friday kicks-off an exciting
week of activities that are
fun for the entire family.
On Friday, February 12, the
River District Alliance (RDA)
presents Mystery Walk in
downtown Fort Myers. Held
on every second Friday of the
month, Mystery Walk is a new
and exciting experience with a
new theme each month. Free
to attend, it begins at 6 p.m.
On Saturday. February 13
from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the
RDA presents the Downtown
Saturday Art Fair. Held on
select dates during season,
the fair brings unique arts and
crafts to the streets of the River
District. On February 13, it will
be held at Cornog Plaza, locat-
ed outside of the Fort Myers
Regional Library, 2450 First
Street at the corner of Royal
River District Alliance was
formed by a group of downtown property owners, business owners and residents
whose purpose was to assist in the revitalization of the historic downtown district by
promoting events and the redevelopment of downtown while supporting efforts to
restore historic sites.

Also on Saturday, grab your furry friends and head to the River District for the
Edison Festival of Light's Mutt Strutt. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the cos-
tume parade will follow.
Dog lovers, families, vendors and pet agencies gather for fun, food and mutt strut.
Pooches and owners dress in costumes or their finest bling. There are even a few dog-
gie floats mixed in. It's free to
the public and only requires a
small registration fee for par-
ticipating pups. Medals are
awarded in several categories
including the infamous look-
alike and mayor's awards.
You can also bring your wie-
ner-dog to test its speed in
the second annual Wierner-
Dog Derby of Light.

with different craft beers
available from Budweiser.

org.On Saturday and Sunday, the Edison & Ford Winter Estates hosts its annual
Edison Garden Festival. Dozens of vendors from all over Florida will have thou-
sands of exotic and tropical plants and trees, along with garden art and supplies for
sale. Multiple food trucks will be on site so come hungry.
The Edison Garden Festival also features live entertainment, kid's activities, and a
petting zoo. A local brewery even made a special beer from the Edison Ford starfruit
and will be giving out free samples of it and other beers, including their own root beer.
Parking and admission to the Edison Garden Festival is free.

• Noon to 2 p.m., 107.1 FM Cat Country will broadcast live

• 2 to 4 p.m., Live music with Dave Heveron

Do you crave something more exotic, but don't want to travel far from home? The
29th annual India Fest Fort Myers may be the perfect destination for you.
India Fest will be held at Hammond Stadium this year on Saturday, February 13
from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and free for children under five
years of age.
Each year, this celebration of Indian culture is attended by approximately 4,000
enthusiasts. It showcases highly-choreographed dances performed to Indian music, the
latest in Indian fashion, intricate jewelry, handicrafts and authentic cuisine. The mission
of India Fest is to demonstrate cultural pride and to further cultural awareness to the
Hammond Stadium is located at 14100 Ben C. Pratt/Six Mile Cypress Parkway in

On Sunday, February 14, downtown streets will be closed for the Edison Festival
of Light Junior Events.
The Junior Run begins at 1 p.m. and the annual Junior Parade follows at 2:30
p.m. The crowning of the Junior King and Queen winds up the afternoon at 4
p.m. in the Harborside Event Center, 1375 Monroe Street.

The River District is going to the dogs on Saturday for
Mutt Strutt, part of the Edison Festival of Light festivities.
