Festival Of The Arts This Weekend
The Rotary Club of Cape Coral will be holding its 31st annual Cape Coral
Festival of the Arts from 10 a.m . to 5 p.m . on Saturday, January 9 and Sunday,
As one of Southwest Florida’s largest art shows, this annual art festival showcases
the works of more than 300 juried artists and artisans featuring fine art, sculpture,
pottery, jewelry, photography, metal works and mixed media. The festival takes place
on Cape Coral Parkway in downtown Cape Coral between Del Prado Boulevard and
Vincennes Street. Free admission and parking will be provided along with area’s larg-
est collection of art, food and fun for the whole family.
This year’s official event poster artist is Don Nedobeck. Nedobeck is best known
for his whimsical and color ful paintings of animals and his use of acrylic, enhanced
with pen, ink and colored pencils. His work is featured as fine art and prints as well
as in children’s books, calendars and a host of other products. Nedobeck has been a
part of the Cape Coral Festival of the Arts since its inception over 30 years ago and
has been the poster artist for many art festivals, non-profits and other organizations.
Festival attendees are encouraged to stop by his booth across from the Holiday Inn.

January 11. It’s called Stories For Adults
with Dr. Sidney Simon.
We all have stories to tell. You don’t
have to be a professional storyteller. The
sweetest ones are the ones that come
out of real life – stories that have a point
and help make this a better community
in which to live for all the rest of us. Join
Dr. Sidney Simon as he demonstrates
that idea, and then, if the stories he tells
stimulate something in your life’s memo-
ries, you might get called on.
Stories For Adults takes place at 7 p.m.
on Monday, January 11 inside Lab Theater
in the downtown Fort Myers’ River District.

On Friday, January 8, Kiwanis
Club meets for breakfast at 7:30
a.m . Guest may choose between
a fried fish/shrimp/crab cakes/New
England clam chowder dinner or baked
chicken dinner. Harry Boyle plays from
7:30 to 10:30 p.m .
On Saturday, January 9, the Pool
League plays at 1 p.m . Queen of Hearts
starts at 7 p.m . Choose either a prime rib
or a baked fish dinner. Harry Boyle plays
from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m .
On Sunday, January 10, a breakfast
buffet is served from 8:30 to 11 a.m .
Bingo runs from noon to 3 p.m . Dinner
menu to be determined. Karaoke with
Susie is held from 6 to 10 p.m.
On Monday, January 11, the Pool
League plays at 6 p.m . There is an
Auxiliary meeting starting at 6:30 p.m .
Post roast dinner will be served.
On Tuesday, January 12, choose from
fettuccine alfredo with 25 shrimp or a
fried chicken dinner. Mega-Money is at
6:30 p.m . The Gregg Allan Van Show
plays from 7 to 10 p.m.
